The Revive Community Fund is a joint venture of SUEZ recycling and recovery UK (SUEZ) and Surrey County Council (SCC). The Fund aims to improve community life and support the people and environment of Surrey, with a focus on community, health and wellbeing, and environmental improvement. Not-for-profit, formally constituted organisations can apply for grants of up to £4,000, with a total of £17,500 available. Projects which match the Revive Community Fund criteria will be shortlisted and reviewed by representatives from SUEZ and SCC who will award the funds. The Revive Community Fund is funded by the 5 Revive re-use shops operated across Surrey, selling pre-owned items, diverting more than 1,000 tonnes a year away from disposal. Each year, a proportion of the net profits are donated to support local charities in the county with over £102,500 of funding distributed since 2018. Winners from the earlier funding round in 2025 included Forest School for All, Marginalised by Multiple Sclerosis, The Patchworking Garden Project Academy, Charlton Village Playground Safe & Secure, and Respite and Relaxation: Supporting the wellbeing of patients and their families through terminal illness. As part of a 25-year contract, SUEZ works on behalf of SCC to manage household waste that’s generated daily across the country. SUEZ operates a network of integrated waste management facilities including 15 Community Recycling Centres, 5 Revive re-use shops, 5 waste transfer stations, a gasification facility, and an anaerobic digestion facility. We believe that sustainability is the only business case – for our company, and ultimately, for the Earth, economy and everyone. We measure and report our performance against this triple test for the planet, people, and profit. Surrey County Council community vision for 2030 By 2030 we want Surrey to be a uniquely special place where everyone has a great start to life, people live healthy and fulfilling lives, and enabled to achieve their full potential and contribute to their community, and no one is left behind. We want our county’s economy to be strong, vibrant and successful and Surrey to be a great place to live, work, and learn. A place that capitalises on its location and natural assets, and where communities feel supported and people are able to support each other.
