Fund purpose The Greenwich Neighbourhood Growth Fund (GNGF) is an annual grant to support projects that address the impact of development within the local area. The funds are secured through the Community Infrastructure Levy - a scheme that raises money from development in the borough to improve local infrastructure. A portion of the CIL collected (15%) is made available to local organisations to support investment in local projects that address the demands on new development. A total of £1m is available in this funding round - split across 4 neighbourhood zones. Projects will be matched to the relevant neighbourhood zone based on the project location. Organisations can apply for between £2,500 and up to £35,000. Who can apply? ✔ Registered charities or charitable incorporated organisations ✔ Charitable companies or social enterprises ✔ Community interest companies (CICs) ✔ Businesses (not-for-profit and without share capital) ✔ Schools Applicants should note that projects investing in new, or improvements to existing, infrastructure will be prioritised over proposals the focus on providing a service. Examples of previously funded projects include community facilities, environmental improvements, new play equipment or improvements to community buildings. Proposals should ✅ Demonstrate how it addresses the impact of development ✅ Benefit the widest section of community ✅ Not have ongoing revenue implications for the council ✅ Have a well-thought through project plan and be ready to be started ✅ Represent value for money Groups should obtain quotes for the relevant works in the project, as we may ask for these to help with shortlisting and demonstrate value for money. Please be prepared to provide a quote for any single goods or service over £5k.
