Fund details & criteria

Fund purpose

The Revive Community Fund is a joint venture of SUEZ recycling and recovery UK (SUEZ) and Surrey County Council (SCC). The purpose of the Fund is to help improve community life and support the people and environment of Surrey. Organisations that are developing community, health and wellbeing and environmental projects in Surrey can apply for grants of up to £4,000, with a total of £17,500 available. All applicants will need to be formally constituted and must be not-for-profit organisations. Projects that match the Revive Community Fund criteria will be shortlisted and then reviewed by representatives from SUEZ and Surrey County Council who will award the funds. The Revive Community Fund is funded by the five Revive re-use shops operated across Surrey, selling pre-owned items for the home and garden and diverting more than 1,000 tonnes a year away from disposal. Each year, a proportion of the net profits are donated to support local charities in the county with over £85,000 of funding distributed since 2018. Winners from the earlier funding round in 2024 included Weybridge Beekeepers, The Meath Epilepsy Charity, New Haw Litter Pickers, The Fountain Centre, Oakleaf Enterprise, Young Epilepsy, The Include Project, Elmbridge Community Eco Hub and Tice's Meadow Bird Group. About SUEZ in Surrey As part of a 25-year contract, SUEZ recycling and recovery UK works on behalf of Surrey County Council to manage the household waste that’s generated daily across the county. SUEZ operates a network of integrated waste management facilities including 15 Community Recycling Centres, 5 Revive re-use shops, 5 waste transfer stations, a gasification facility, and an anaerobic digestion facility. We believe that sustainability is the only business case – for our company, and ultimately, for the Earth, economy and everyone. We measure and report our performance against this triple test for the planet, people and profit. Surrey County Council community vision for 2030 By 2030 we want Surrey to be a uniquely special place where everyone has a great start to life, people live healthy and fulfilling lives, are enabled to achieve their full potential and contribute to their community, and no one is left behind. We want our county's economy to be strong, vibrant and successful and Surrey to be a great place to live, work and learn. A place that capitalises on its location and natural assets, and where communities feel supported and people are able to support each other.
