Fund details & criteria

Fund purpose

Sir Robert McAlpine is a family-owned construction and civil engineering company, founded in 1869. In 2020, we launched the Strong Foundations Grant, aimed at supporting small charities and community organisations in and around our sites and offices. For 2023, we are looking for projects that drive positive change and generate impact in their local communities. We’re not just passionate about shaping towns and cities and landscapes. We’re also committed to making a positive impact on communities and environments, and leaving a lasting legacy for generations to come. The Strong Foundations Grant will be available to those seeking funding or support for new ideas or existing projects, with an aim to drive positive change in the local area. ------ Applying for funding on ActionFunder is a bit different. Here’s the process: sign up, register your organisation and post a project you want funding for. Your project will automatically match with any funds you meet the criteria for (grant amount, location, focus area). If you want to apply for this fund, make sure your project meets the criteria. Your project will remain live on the platform (ready to match with new funds) until you successfully win funding. ActionFunder’s all about saving you time so that you can get on with what matters: community action.
