Fund details & criteria

Fund purpose

Brent Cross Town, the 180-acre new town centre project north of Cricklewood being delivered through a joint venture between Related Argent and Barnet Council, is happy to be launching its fifth round of the Brent Cross Town Community Fund for 2023. This year the fund offers grants of £500-£5,000 to new or existing local initiatives that boost local wellbeing and create flourishing communities. This reflects the ambition for the new town centre to be an inclusive, people-first place which strives to be healthy and sustainable. This fund is for community organisations in Cricklewood, Childs Hill, Golders Green and West Hendon. Applications received within this area will be given priority, HOWEVER applications close to this location will also be considered. In 2023, we are celebrating five years of community funding. The fund is looking to particularly help projects that include an outdoor and active offer, support mental and physical wellbeing, those that foster community togetherness, and groups that can facilitate positive interventions aimed at preventing anti-social behaviour in the community. In light of the cost of living crisis, the fund is also open to projects supporting those most affected. This year the fund is looking to reach further across the community whilst welcoming back projects that have been supported in previous years and continue to make a real positive difference to the local area. Importantly, there will be an additional £10k of funding available for a handful of successful, ‘people’s projects’ that will be decided by a public vote after initial funding grants are awarded by Brent Cross Town. Public voting will take place in early July (dates TBC). There will also be a celebration event on July 15th, which all successful recipients of grant funding will be invited to. ------ Applying for funding on ActionFunder is a bit different. Here’s the process: sign up, register your organisation and post a project you want funding for. Your project will automatically match with any funds you meet the criteria for (grant amount, location, focus area). If you want to apply for this fund, make sure your project meets the criteria. Your project will remain live on the platform (ready to match with new funds) until you successfully win funding. ActionFunder’s all about saving you time so that you can get on with what matters: community action.
