Fund details & criteria

Fund purpose

London HQ comprises the four Business Improvement Districts (BIDs) in South Westminster: Victoria, Victoria Westminster, Whitehall and The Northbank. All are not-for-profit private organisations funded by local businesses with the aim of improving the local trading environment, making their respective footprints exceptional places to live, work and visit. Generally this work falls under five main project areas: Cleaning and Greening; Destination; Placemaking; Community, Safety & Business Resilience; and ESG. We represent approximately 1000 local businesses who want to support the wider community around them - hence within our ESG theme we provide funding to support local charities with programmes that are either already up and running, or need the funds to start. This year we are partnering with ActionFunder in order to broaden the reach and impact of our work. We have decided to support the following themes as they align with our broader objectives: Education and Employment, Mental Health and Wellbeing, Poverty and Homelessness, Sustainable Consumption and Production, Neighbourhood, and Climate and Nature. Not only do we want to provide funding to successful applicants but we’re also keen to build lasting relationships that could result in further opportunities. ~~~~~ Applying for funding on ActionFunder is a bit different. Here’s the process: sign up, register your organisation and post a project you want funding for. Your project will automatically match with any funds you meet the criteria for (grant amount, location, focus area). If you want to apply for this fund, make sure your project meets the criteria. Your project will remain live on the platform (ready to match with new funds) until you successfully win funding. ActionFunder’s all about saving you time so that you can get on with what matters: community action.
