SNGs Winter Wishes Fund
Fund details & criteria
Fund purpose
Our Winter Wishes Fund provides grants of up to £1,000 to support SNG customers & communities over the festive period and beyond. For many, Christmas is a time of joy and celebration. But for others, it can bring financial strain, loneliness, emotional challenges, and feelings of social isolation. We welcome creative and community-led ideas that not only address immediate needs during the festive period, but also build skills, confidence, connections and resilience beyond winter. Projects that create ongoing opportunities for SNG customers to come together, support one another and strengthen their communities, are particularly encouraged. The fund opens on 21st September and applications must be made by 11:59pm on Monday 19th October 2026 This winter, we’re focusing our Winter Wishes Fund on five key priorities: 1. Magic moments for children –Projects that create positive and memorable festive experiences for children and young people who may otherwise miss out. Funding could support gifts, festive activities, trips, celebrations, meals, or other opportunities that help children feel included, valued and supported. 2. Food insecurity and food poverty – Projects that help individuals and families access food, warmth and essential support during the winter months. Examples include food hampers, warm packs, hot meals, advice and support services. 3. Mental health - Projects that promote emotional wellbeing, reduce stress and build resilience during the winter months. Examples include support groups, creative therapy sessions and drop-in wellbeing services. 4. Loneliness and isolation – Projects that connect SNG customers and communities who may feel alone or disconnected during winter. Examples include Christmas dinners, creative community hubs, intergenerational activities, befriending schemes. 5. Community-led action – Customer and Community-led initiatives that bring people together to address local need, reduce hardship and strengthen community connections.
